EDUCATION:

Janhavi Manjrekar is an urban planner with more than five years of experience shaping people-centered environments across the United States and India. She has a Bachelor of Architecture, a Master of Landscape Architecture, and most recently received her Master of City Design from the University of Illinois Chicago. Her skills include placemaking, framework planning, community engagement, and data-informed decision-making.

Janhavi was inspired by her upbringing in a multilingual, multicultural joint family—an experience that continues to guide her work as an urban planner and serves as a source of her motivation. Striving to create places that serve diverse needs and foster collective well-being, while making sure to elevate community voices and equip people to make informed decisions about their community’s future.

Now at UAC, Janhavi shares our mission, believing that planning should be collaborative, people-centered, and grounded in purpose. She joins us in an environment where diverse disciplines and voices come together. Something that she has always believed helps formulate bold ideas that become stronger when they’re shaped collectively.

Beyond her planning work, Janhavi serves as Marketing Co-Chair for Women in Planning and Development Chicago, supporting strategic communications and organizational outreach.
